Telehealth teams re-type the same order steps by hand. See one example order automated, then check yours with the free checklist.
One order, six handovers, nobody re-typing.
Telehealth workflow automation moves an order through intake, CRM, pharmacy and follow-up without anyone re-typing it. This page walks through one example prescription order and lists what stays with people.

What is telehealth workflow automation?
Telehealth workflow automation is software that carries a repeated administrative step from one system to the next, so staff stop copying data by hand.
In an online prescription business the steps are the intake data, the CRM contact, the pharmacy request, the shipment status and the follow-up email. Each step has a trigger, a rule and a log of what happened, so a failure is noticed instead of lost. The result is one record per order that every system agrees on, instead of copies that drift apart.
Clinical decisions are not among these steps. A clinician decides about treatment, and the automation only moves the result along. We build this kind of connection between the systems you already use, inside accounts you own, and we test it on test records before any real data flows. Where a step cannot be automated, the workflow hands it to a named person on your team.
What does one order look like when it is automated?
Here is an example prescription order, in six handovers. It is an example only: the details are invented and no real patient or figure is shown.
- Intake form The customer submits the form. It checks the required fields before anything is saved.
- CRM One contact record is created, or the existing one is updated, matched on the email address.
- Pharmacy API The order fields are mapped to the pharmacy's fields and sent through its API, in a test environment first.
- Shipment update When the pharmacy reports a shipment, the tracking update is saved against the order.
- Follow-up email A treatment-specific email goes out from your own email service.
- Alert If a step fails and a retry cannot fix it, your team gets an alert the same day.
The intake and CRM handovers are described in healthcare CRM integration.
Which other telehealth steps can be automated?
The examples we work on are the handovers an order or an enrollment passes through, all inside your own accounts.
- A nightly or event-driven sync of an insurance enrollment portal into the CRM.
- Shipment tracking updates sent to the customer by email.
- Treatment-specific emails triggered by the order.
- Consent answers copied into their own CRM fields exactly as the form states them.
- An alert to your team when a sync run fails.
- A list of duplicate contacts for your team to review, instead of silent merges.
What stays with people?
Every clinical decision, and every exception that needs a person's judgment.
- Treatment choices and changes to treatment rules.
- Reviewing duplicate contacts and edge cases such as a shared family email.
- Legal and compliance questions, which go to your counsel.
If the record also has to reach an EHR, read the EHR integration guide first.
How do you find the first step to automate?
Look for the handover where your team copies a record by hand today. The free readiness checklist has a section for exactly that.
Custom builds between a platform, a pharmacy and a CRM are covered under custom telemedicine integrations. A real project is described in the case note.
